My first impressions of the Romeo-X Enclosed weren't positive. It looks like someone went crazy with the material used to seal the rear lens. I was able to get whatever is at the 1:00 position off with an alcohol wipe.

I’d call SIG and make them replace it under warranty. None of mine were like that!

    +2 on that. I wouldn't accept that on a $200 sight, much less a $500.

A third vote for contacting Sig. I only have one enclosed emitter X. It also a little more adhesive/sealant around the top of the rear lens than I think it really needed but nowhere near how much your example has. Have their CS deal with it. You shouldn’t have to remove sealant to get that thing in working order. That was their job.

Pray for me - I preordered a 6 MOA Romeo X SIG-LOC. I’m gonna need to make sure the threaded holes and fastener threads are squeaky clean and I’ll probably use liquid threadlocker instead of the chapstick type I usually use for optics.

Pray for you because buying anything from Sig is a crapshoot? (or is there additional context that I am missing?)

There’s been discussion about the bottom mount fasteners and how if they fail they could take the gun out.

I thought they went away from those. Sorry I haven't kept up, but are we looking at an older design or did they revert back to a bad idea?

Apologies. I will read up. I don't need to set the conversation back.
