    I can pee outside.
I have not reloaded for 38 in years, so I'm using the fodder I had loaded years ago. About 3k worth of reloads.
Mixed brass, CCI small pistol, Hodgdon powder, Berry's plated HBWC, 148gr.
Also factory 158's, whatever flavor I can get.

I ordered 3 kits but won’t have time to tear down guns for awhile… hoping the oversized firing pins aren’t the norm.

Taurus small frame and Tracker style frame revolvers have always suffered from light primer strikes. Factory springs were usually weak and needed to be heavier, not lighter, for reliability. I had guns back to the factory numerous times with no resolutions to the problems. My solution was shimming the spring which makes trigger pull heavier but more reliable ignition and used only Federal or some winchester primed ammunition.

You have your choice with these Tauri, reliability or nice trigger pull, usually not both. The K frame size revolvers were usually good to go with factory springs..Rossi revolvers suffered from the same problem. The factory spring weights were all over the place. If the factory replaced the springs it likely didn't help. If you happen to get an extra heavy spring on the gun you were just lucky.

I’m hoping that some internal fluffing and buffing plus the extended firing pin can make a difference.

They're really pretty similar to the Smiths internally so I'm hoping they can benefit from the same treatment!

    100% with Federal wadcutters

So I oiled the gun and ran a box of Federal wadcutters through.

    100% function

    Not definitive, but promising!

At 8# trigger, I’ll take it!

Trigger springs from top to bottom: Wolff 9lb, stock 856 EG, and Wolff 6.5lb (still in bag).

It seems neither Wolff trigger return spring can be installed on the 856 EG without some cutting either.

That 856 Executive Grade uses some internal parts that are different to the standard 856, which is why some hammer springs may not interchange 1:1. I have a stock spring in my 856 EG and haven't had any complaints about it
