Thread: Inner Duty Belt

    Inner Duty Belt

My duty belt is a bianchi with loop on the inside. My inner belt is a rollable, buckless, bianchi with hook exterior. I'm looking to replace the inner belt with something better. It doesn't have any buckle to get consistent tightness, it's flimsy, and generally strikes me as poor quality. It's been heavily used prior to being issued to me.

I wear a graith specialist in my personal life. I was hoping to find something similar to use as an inner belt. If I could find something similar with a cobra buckle that would allow unbuckling without removing my duty belt for restroom visits that would be ideal.

The problem I'm finding is that most belt systems are inner with loop, outer with hook. Mine is opposite. The benefit of loop inners is they're easier on belt loops when threading through. I get it, but that's not an option for me. The only one I've found is this Blauer: https://www.blauer.com/guardian-iii-...belt-b005.html

What decent inner belts are you guys wearing? Are there any inner belts with hook (and some form of buckle or even tri glide) that you guys are aware of?

I’ve just bought a bunch of their belts. The inner belt is pretty nice.

Looks like they only offer loop inner belts. I need hook.

I think the HSGI Belt has what you want.

I used the Volund Gearworks biothane underbelt with a g-hook. You can specify hook or loop, depending on your duty belt's configuration. https://volundgearworks.com/product/...-g-hook-liner/ Fitting the belt to your size is key, and measuring correctly is necessary. Folks either love or hate this system, IME. I did not like it at first, but then grew to love it.

I emailed Volund about what I'm looking for and got a pretty fast reply from Matt. I ordered the Biothane G hook you linked. If it doesn't function the way I'm picturing I can return it and order a custom belt.

The Blauers work as advertised, but they are very light construction and I've just about worn out the second one I've had in the last four or five years.

I use one from Mastermind that I really like, I don't think they make them anymore now. For CCW I use the Tenicor Zero Liner belt as a stand alone belt and that would work great as a liner belt as well.

I was going to point towards Volund as a custom option. I believe snake-eater will do custom hook exterior on a cobra as well.

Before you drop volund money though, is it possible to just get a new belt altogether? The blue alpha edc inner belt is the belt I wear every day, then just throw my blue alpha molle belt on over it when I need a duty belt at work. It’s a much more stream-lined option in my experience.

It's a functional belt but over time, they tend to take a "set" and don't really provide any structural rigidity. I wore mine with suspenders and the bent kind of folded in on itself and refused to return to its original shape. The back of the belt looked like a W.
