I got to see one early, and my first thought was "nice APX."

The ACRO adapter plate is on the SA website for $30.

I'm not in the market for a striker fired pistol but I did notice that the grip texture extended higher up than most pistols. That is a good move for better support hand purchase.

I was just looking at the XD line the other day and pondering that it seems pretty badly out of date compared to the competition. Seeing SA come out with a new design that puts it back into contention with APX/M&P/Glock/FN is great. Competition makes everyone stronger.

I don't see me replacing my Glocks or M&Ps but I DO see Glock and M&P feeling the pressure to keep the quality and innovation high, and I like that.

I am going to get a tiny bit of snark in, though. When I looked at the website link and saw it immediately launch into a discussion of ancient Greek warfare I groaned out loud. Has that not been done to death at this point?
I mean really. At this point where’s the love for steppe nomad horse archers?

In all seriousness, if this turns out to be a reliable/durable gun it’s one I’m definitely interested in.

I'm still reading the thread, but I binged several videos already. Initial impressions:
1.flexible mounting for different optics. We are not settling on a standard any time soon, nor should we. 5 minutes ago we thought we had all the footprints we would ever need, now everyone wants an EPS. I wonder if this thing takes an EPS?
    2. Excellent sights that appear to allow for a usable cowitness.
3.Different sized frames that also adjust trigger reach. 80% won't care, but the rest of us do.
3b. AND backstraps on top of that to adjust hump. Never seen that, but I won't turn down customizable hump either.
    4. I see no reason why it would inherit any XD problems, it's a whole new animal. They even threw out the XD magazines! Wonder if these are mecgar?
    5. It seems like HS is doing everything they can to try to launch themselves into Glock/Sig territory. If this works out, I don't see any reason why they couldn't.
    6. For a gun that doesn't innovate on any particular thing (maybe the optics but similar things exist) this does enough things well to still be interesting.

Just got an email from Apex about their stainless steel guide rod for the Echelon.

You gotta hand it to Springfield, this is how you coordinate a launch. I’m not even interested in this pistol, but I can respect the business approach.

Not very bright but does lack ambition
My question - is the design amenable to a SCD?

Scott from Apex also confirmed that they have triggers, slide stops, and single sided mag releases in prototyping already as well
