Any success adding a small wedge or pillow to a spare IWB carrier? I know they are pretty short in length so I'm not sure of effect, if any. Thanks!

JMCK has an option to add a neoprene pad to their mag carrier, and I've found it to work very well. The high-ride mag pouch also has adjustable height so it can have a bit more depth below the belt to help with tipping.

It would take less time to try it yourself than to ask others if it will work for you.
I've done it on one or two mag carriers. Worked well. (I cut off a small piece of an older neoprene wedge for it.)
There's nothing civil about this war.
I tried using the pad with that JMCK, and it didn't work for me. Pushed the back corner of Glock mags into my stomach enough to make it very uncomfortable, even after playing with depth/height of the mag. The good news is, without a pad of any sort, it conceals awesome. The extra length below the belt seems to help, as you mentioned. I have not tried a "pillow" ala Mastermind Tactics, but it works well for me bare (besides the loop side of the velcro, which I never removed).
My advice: Try things and see what works for you.

This one may be worth a shot. I think the added length really help

I run a small pad on AIWB spare mag carriers as well as IWB knife sheaths. For me the mag carrier is pretty much always the JM high ride, though the Dark Star Koala is a similar idea and I believe LAS Concealment also has something along similar lines.
I sometimes use the small pads that JM provides with their AIWB pouch as an option. I don't find it necessary, but it does make the pouch a little more concealable.
