Looks very nice, like out of a time machine. Doing a brief google search on it, it appears to be essentially a fixed sight version of the Model 28? I have a thing for N Frame .357's, a Highway Patrolman has been on my list a long time.

Super interesting N frame I won on GB.

This is a 520 that apparently was built outside of the original NYSP order and shipped in 1983. Roy Jinks in his letter that came with the gun says he believes this was built on a Model 58 frame which is corroborated by the overstrike of 520 being in a different font.

Not sure how many of these there are but it’s fun getting the boomers worked up on the blue forum over this, as no one apparently knows anything about them and only this one and one other has surfaced so far.

The distributer I worked for got some of those in in the very early 80’s (I left in 82) and we were told that NYSP backed out of the original quantity so the remainder went out for sale. I didn’t get a chance to make a spot in the warehouse for them as they were quickly snatched up by gun shop owners speculating as to future worth. Nice find! The one or two I saw unboxed were exceptionally nice guns.

The two retaining screws were way too tight, I could not push the gun all the way down. But it was tight enough to hold it securely, so I thought that I was GTG. I backed the two screws off until I could push it in and draw it without ripping my belt off.

It just boggles my mind that I can conceal a 4" N-frame. Now I regret not buying that 4" Model 29 six years ago (though I'd be shooting it with Specials, only).

Stephanie B, let me know if you need some extra washers and/or longer screws. We test fit with a 610 N Frame so there may be some subtle differences. You can email me if it's easier as well. Thanks

Tony, I probably do need at least the longer screws. They're pretty close to bottoming out in the nuts.

I always wanted an N frame and finally found a nice Model 29. Fun to shoot full power 44 Magnums but I found it to be too stout for my shooting needs so I experimented with 44 shorts and settled on 44 Russian.

Great gun for Steel Challenge and ICORE matches. I eventually had it cut for full moon clips.

I'm not gonna make an appendix holster for this blaster
