Saw her in November '69 with the Stones, B.B. King, and Janis Joplin. What a night.

She was one of those artists that, while I never really connected with her music, I had great respect for her talent... RIP

Tina Turner in earlier years had performed on the Chitlin Circuit, an interesting topic itself.
When my two granddaughters (ages 5 and 7) get in the car, do they ask for music from The Little Mermaid, from Frozen, from Mulan? No-o-o-l. They ask for Tina Turner, and 99/100 times, they want Proud Mary.
And, as soon as it's finished, we hear in unison from the back seat "Play it again!"
I am certainly not man enough to tell them she died. Maybe when they're ready for college.
