My/Our friend Rosco Benson has passed

I've never had the honor of meeting him, but closely followed the "Tactics" column in Combat Handguns back in the day.
We modeled out "Tactical Matches" (pre-IDPA days) based on what Rick Miller and Rosco Benson demonstrated, even using the Paladin scoring system.
I always enjoyed his postings on the various forums (including here of course) over the years, and paid attention to what he wrote. Much respect.

I never got to meet Mr. Benson, but always enjoyed his articles. Lots of good, practical advice.

I have always enjoyed his writing.

I do want to clarify, as @Jamie mentioned, Rick Miller (who is alive and well) was the author of the Combat Handguns Tactics column, but he would frequently feature demonstration photos of Rosco (and occasionally, a younger me ).

Thanks, I couldn’t recall why I knew that name. When I purged a bunch of magazines, I tore out the Rick Miller columns.

FWIW, I was able to shoot with a Paladin group in the late 90's in the Las Vegas area. Had a huge impact on me as a shooter and instructor.
