I believe Aridus is working on a CROM for them.

Mine from a few years ago is drilled on top for mounts. Several companies make things like this:

While looking at that I noticed these dot specific mounts:

    Mine has one of these:

I assume a 1301 is better than this for bear country?

95s are drilled and tapped, which is how they mount the Skinner rear sight.

Pull the Skinner, replace it with https://xssights.com/products/marlin...ight-sets.html and mount your dot.

I can't speak to use on bears, but a peep-sighted lever gun will reach a lot farther than a 12 gauge.

ETA: "Pull the Skinner" and "mount your dot" are not euphemisms.

45-70 is a better hunting bear cartridge, but the 1301 with Brenneke classic magnum slugs is a better defensive long gun due to capacity and being a semi auto.

Easy to mount. I have one on my 1895 using the XS rail.

Go check out Midwest Industries. I have one of their iron sight/T1 cowitness mounts on my 1894. I suck on this tiny ass phone screen or I woukd try to paste a link
I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.

Out at my remote cabin. The bolt is a .450 Marlin, loaded to .458 WM lite power with Barnes and Swift bullets.

Probably yes, but if you need to take vengeance on a batch of murderous petroleum industry security contractors gone bad, the Marlin might come in handy...
