It's double-track here, as opposed to single-track, which is what you run and/or mountain bike on.

Where I'm from, a dirt road is a gravel road. They are interchangeable.

That pic is a logging road.

"Waldweg". Or more lyrical: "Schöner Waldweg".

That looks very similar to my driveway where I grew up. Still love going down that driveway.

So that's what I would call it, driveway. Or maybe forest road.

Way too smooth and narrow to be a logging road. That road is the well maintained driveway of a country gentleman. When you reach the end, you'll come to a circular drive with two new Discoveries parked in the carriage house.

That's more or less what you would find around here. They like to keep it as natural looking as they can, even around the 2 million dollar house that DW goes to. Hell, they won't even cut the trees that will probably fall on the house in the next storm. People move here from CA and Seattle and never think about that until it happens. I guess that's why they have insurance.

That’s what the drive to my great grandmother’s house looked like. She lived in an area north of Arlington that was called the Finn Settlement.

Maybe where you are from. Where I'm from if you don't have some gravel down it will be a muddy mess of blue gumbo 6 months out of the year and not passable in a Discovery.
