That is a dirt road.
"Dirt" is just a differentiator from "pavement". Depending on how far out you get, sometimes that is (or was, maybe) just a "road" and it's the "paved roads" that might be notable.
In IL, a “dirt road.” In NH, I mostly heard “lane.” Here in TX, I think it’s “the place you’ll get shot for trespass.”
