    V2 of 2023 rules

Holster rules are simpler? They dropped the no more offset than the width of a mag. But the height is still similar.
"8.5.1.12 All IDPA legal holsters must hold the butt of the firearm clearly above the top of the belt. Concealment and
    cant angle rules apply"
I have been searching all over for a definition of the 'butt of the firearm' w/ no luck. Which of these is legal? I hope 2 is but IDK.

I would think #2 unless rules said “wholly above top of belt.”

    Could ask your local director?

Well that was quick. Got an answer from our regional administrator.

"The butt is the highest point of the backstrap when holstered."

Yeehaw, my #2 diagram is legal.
