I just ordered some of this: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1026091053?pid=981215. Any thoughts on what would make it non-duty?
Thanks,
Jon

The description is pretty clear:
QC standards are higher for duty ammo and / or the bullets themselves are sone sort of blemish or QC rejects.Non-duty bonded training analog for LE duty ammo
Doesn’t mean it won’t shoot ok for range /traning. Soft point ammo is not the best for accuracy regardless.
The 64 grain Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullet used in this load . . .
62 grain TBBC on the left for comparison . . .

I just bought some pulls that look like the non-bonded bullet, right down to the boat tail. I got them cheap enough that I'm not out anything, but at least I now know exactly what I have.

Molon,
The Federal load in the first post has me confused, it's described as a non-bonded practice load in the ads description, then as "bonded" further down. My bullets are 64 gr, and "T" marked on the base. Should they be bonded then? Does TB even offer a non-bonded bullet?
I apologize for sounding so obtuse, but that ad has me puzzled.
Thank you!

Thank you, I'll quit over analyzing this.
Much appreciated!

While the “ND” in the product number indicates the non duty status for this ammo is from the factory, it’s not uncommon to see duty ammo traded in by agencies for sale at a discount with “not for duty use” caveats simply because the seller has no control / info on the conditions under which the ammo might have been stored. “It’s probably fine” is mot acceptable for a life/safety application.
