    Next Best “Kydex” Mag Carrier?

Executive summary- I like them and they have served well in class/quals/edc.

Recall a prior thread in which we were lamenting the demise of the Custom Carry Concepts basic mag carrier.

In an effort to find a suitable replacement- I stumbled across one being sold on EBay for about 15 USD shipped CONUS. It is marketed for 1.5 inch belts though the slot it is approx 1.55 inches. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever.

The pouch is advertises as being 3d printed. it is sturdy with far less flex than kydex.

I offer the following comparisons. eBay Mag (1.5 inch model) CCC BMC. (1.75 inch model) All measurement approx and rounded to nearest mm

    Weight 39g v 32g
    Height 83 mm v 71mm
    Width front-back 40 mm v 36 mm
    Width side-side 40mm v 41 mm
    Internal Width 23mm v 24mm
    IW- side to side 34mm v. 32mm
    Belt Loop Width. 6.4mm v 7.6 mm

I have carried the eBay on on the following belts and note the following:

5.11 Apex “Biothane” - pouch moves freely on belt. Cinches fine when worn in field.

Mastermind Tactics Specialist “Shiv Works Ltd Ed”- ditto

Wilderness FF CSM- eBay pouch does NOT move freely and cinches fines

Tenicor Zero- pouch moves freely on belt. Cinches fine

Old School Earnie Hill Horsehide Leather Gun Belt- EBay pouch will NOT thread absent great effort. The BMC will, though it is quite tight

On a whim, I drilled a couple of “drain holes in one to see if it materially affected the release of the magazine ..it did not

I like this one. The belt clip is offset. This way the clip dosen't add any additional bulk between you and the belt. Less printing bump and more comfortable.

    Blades:

I carry 2 of those in my bag as loaners/mic. pouches as they work for a wide variety of mags/tools lights etc.

    eBay for lefties

These look like the CCC mag pouches, but I can't tell for sure: not a bad deal for a lefty in need of some pouches: https://www.ebay.com/itm/295624094245

They have been for some time. I used to like their BMC but have been really happy with the Tenicor Fero2 mag pouch.
