    Bill is spot on.

If the shooters family was at all decent, we should mourn for them as well. Worse than losing a child, is to have your child become an evil murdering monster.

I can only assume that the victims, and the murderer, are encountering very different experiences in the afterlife.

The Daily Mail begins this article with a headline indicating that the shooter was "rejected" by her parents, but goes on to reveal that she was still living in the home of the parents who supposedly rejected her.

More attacks were planned, including a shopping mall and her own family.

...and wondering whether your rejection contributed to them becoming an evil murdering monster

As pointed out in my above post, they did not reject her. They rejected bad choices, which is part of the job of a parent.

Did the reject her as a human because she was not perfect, or her unhealthy life choices?

However, even if they were total pieces of crap, they doesn't excuse the evil. That responsibility falls on her shoulders.

If her own family was a target, I am surprised she didn't go after them first.

Just watched the Officer Collazo “body cam” vid. Ooo-freakin-rah there Collazo. That was Corps performance. Damn grateful that these officers responded with such a high level of initiative or more innocents would have perished.

I don't disagree with any of that. Just adding something for the "framing" angle. Left. Right. The thing I think most in society are missing are the recurring, unifying factors it seems always lead up to these situations.

Isolate the individual. Separate them from their loved ones and society. Tell them they're oppressed. Tell them who's "responsible" for that oppression. Feed the negativity and hate a little bit every day until it boils over.
Have a media and political machine pre-staged and on standby with a battle plan custom tailored to the flavor of the manufactured nutjob.
Hell, with AI now, who knows how many thousands of pre-generated articles and news scripts are on standby for every contingency, waiting to be mass distributed...

We've seen this plenty on the right, usually related to issues surrounding race, religion, economy, etc. I get people being caught up in thinking from the perspective of their "team" but, taking a step back, things are actually much worse.
Left media has been pushing "the message" that the right want to genocide trans. The intent clearly to get morons on the left to do something stupid, thinking they're being a "freedom fighter" or enacting some vengeance. It worked in this case.
Right media is pushing a different flavor of the same message. The intent being to get morons on the right to attack trans people, like at a rally or event that creates a "drag Floyd" martyr to justify a political iron hand in response.

Everything is intentionally being ratcheted up all around and everyone is too focused on their team to see it. We should be asking ourselves why, and who is behind it.
We should be paying a lot of attention to the people doing the isolating of individuals and the media or political machines taking advantage in unnaturally effective ways.
