    Advanced Gunworks 1911?

Any 1911 guys in here that can tell me about a gun I saw today? It was made by Advanced Gunworks out or Roanoke, Tx. They arent in business anymore. The guy at the LGS said they were known as good guns back when they were made. I tend to take gun counter recommendations with a grain of salt.

Anyone heard of them or handled one? Its up the alley of what Im looking for. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Hmm interesting. It seemed like it was a nice gun. May be a good base anyway. Was in really good shape and not crazy priced. I saw a post somewhere that they were around $2k new.

IIRC the gunsmith behind them, now works for/makes/designs 1911s for Jesse James - Scroll down about half way to see a quick bio on him. I dunno how much of it is fluff or not, if any.
