The M28 was the stripper version of the M27, with the same profile barrel.

Yep M28 = M27 without the top strap checkering and the high polish finish or in some cases target trigger and hammer, otherwise same gun.

I tried looking for an OWB holster but it doesn't list any of the S&W revolvers. Only available for IWB? I'm too fat to do my N-Frame IWB.

They only make the OWB1 for revolvers. You ignore the drop-down and type the gun in the comments section.
