I have a few 19-3s and I recently picked up one of 19-9 carry comp performance center models. The carry comp is heavier, but also handles .357 like a champ compared to the older 19s (or 66 in your case). For that amount of money I would buy the carry comp, but I will say that the older smiths have a better trigger than the newer gun even though its a performance center model.

Would I be better off with a new production gun that, while suffering from MIM, lock, and current QC issues, come with a factory warranty and inherent replaceablity that a 3" 66 wouldn't have? I guess the real question is would I be dumb for passing it up at the same price as something like a new 19 Carry Comp?

Size: 47.3 KBFreshly returned from Clark Custom Guns. Mdl 10, C.A.I. marked. Started life as a square butt, ramped front sight. Clark’s bobbed the hammer, service action job, cut the ramp off and installed painted white dot sight, cut the top of the frame to match sight and regulated for Buffalo Bore 150gr. hardcast WC, melted all edges and scalloped the barrel. Why? Well because and it carries like a J frame. CYA MikeName: IMG_0005.jpg

Great package, and great job spec’ing it out. I’d rely on that thing, given the opportunity.

Looks like the front sight has been modified for a better sight picture. Old School Cool.

    That it has.
Took that "dome" front down to a, semi partridge.
Asked dad about that sight, but he could not remember when, or why.
