    The Last of Us

Anyone enjoying this? Me and my family sure are.

Episode four featured a Beretta Model 70 heavily, and had some decent gun handling by a minor along with showing clear and a little dry fire. That bit pleased me.

I am not a fan of the obviously artificial patinas on the ARs though.

    I'm watching. My family isn't.

I found the dominate arm sling position cool to see. Scoffed at the ammo production mentioned 20 years post apocolypse. Obviously Beretta's are awesome.

The whole show requires some serious suspension of belief. But it's entertaining.

Some PF level puns getting worked in last episode was great.

I love the show. However, the execrable NY Times columnist Michelle Goldberg attacked the show as right wing, macho gun porn. How dare that little girl praise the wall of guns as genius. How can we praise a right wing nut survivalist who has guns! How dare they cover up their right wing agenda with a gay couple in a loving relationship! I won't link it as they don't need the hits.

One of the worst pieces of opinion trash, I've seen in a long time.

If twenty year old ravioli is good, so will be twenty year old ammo!

Great show. One weird thing, the young lady is the spitting image of a psychologist I knew about 40 years ago. What's the gun she is carrying? Some European semi, but I didn't get a good look.

That is the Beretta model 70.

And yeah, despite liking Berettas I had to look that one up to identify it. I could 100% tell it was a Beretta with the open slide, but not identify that model.

I watched one episode and got bored. "The Walking Dead" bored me for the same reason.

I want zombie movies to be action moves, preferably with a generous dose of comic absurdity. I can get psychology/relationship/character development elsewhere.

Just my take, though. Obviously, many people see it differently.

In the storyline, the breakdown of society and industry took place in 2003....prior to gun culture 2.0 and the explosion in popularity of AR15s and 5.56 ammo, which explains the character's comment about 5.56 is hard to come by. Remember, the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban was still in place when the story began.

There was a time when 5.56 and AR15s were not the most prevalent caliber and rifle in the US. The storyline reflects that.

If anything, they need to feature less SOPMOD M4 rifles and more M16A2 rifles.

    It's okay.
Leaving the Wall o' Guns with only his Taurus revolver and a bolt action rifle was

It's not lost on me that only the bad guys are toting Ar15s. When Ron Swanson tried to get kilt in da screetz he was using a bolt action.

The Showrunner is heavy on THe Message if you watch the post show vignettes.

Ironic how the 1994 ban catapulted AR's and other black rifles into such popularity. I never saw them as a kid at the range. Unintended consequences.

They lost me in episode 3 when they had of all people Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) make out with another dude. I know it's basically the law that we have to normalize this in absolutely every TV show and movie made but Ron freaking Swanson? Next we'll have a love scene between Sylvester Stallone and Chuck Norris in Tulsa King. For those who have not seen Parks and Rec please disregard.

That character of Bill being gay is original to the story from 10 years ago. It's not a librul conspiracy of forcing the gays on you.

Nick Offerman, regardless of playing Ron Swanson, is actually a liberal. Projecting some sort of conservative homophobic worldview upon him that has now been shattered to the point that you can't watch a TV show is pretty ironic given he's a registered Democrat in California that wanted Pocahontas as POTUS and thought Trump was a, "cheese dick criminal" and that the character he played, Ron Swanson, would have never voted for Trump because Ron Swanson was a good person. He even tweeted to Trump in response to a policy announcement, "Shove it up your ass".

Those are just the straightforward comments. If you want to read into some of the stuff he has said/written, you can reasonably assess that he was referring to conservatives as "whiteheads coming to the surface that need to be exhumed".

ETA: I'd even take a guess that Offerman took that role and ran with it just for the fact that it would piss off people like you, as he has consistently complained about conservatives turning him into some sort of idol when his character Ron Swanson was meant to be a caricature/parody.
