    Laugo Arms Alien

A fellow shot this at the idpa match Saturday.

I don't know him very well but did chat about the pistol a little. The low bore axis does seem to really help. He was drawing some blood by the end of the match though so he needs to work that out.

We have two existing threads on the Laugo Alien Pistol.

I’ve shot two of them. They are cool but not $5k cool. So of course they have a new improved model coming out that will be $7k.

The barebones model without anything is $4800 now. The full kit is $6000. The new Creator model with the modular 1911 style grip will be $7000.

So the prices were increased across the board last year. Originally the full kit was $5000 and the barebones model was $4000.

A fellow took delivery of two of them at my LGS a couple weeks ago. He had the shop staff mount the accompanying red dots (proprietary to the rail with a Laugo logo, but pretty sure it was a Cmore RTS2) and sight the things in, sight unseen, before he even showed up to pick them up.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I would at least take a peek in the box before accepting delivery of $13k worth of new hardware.

And two mags each at that price. Extras are a hundred bucks a pop.

I was offered a chance to coon finger the things but declined out of respect for the buyer.

That is alarming, where was he cut and by what on the gun?

The included optic comes mounted and zeroed already. If it’s like how mine came. It’s basically just one pin in the nose to swap the whole rail from iron to dot rail. Which is probably what they did.

    It is an RTS2.

Slide bite is common since the slide is so low on the beavertail.

Yes, they just snapped the rails in. Then they went out to the range with them, presumably to confirm the zero. It just struck me as interesting that a customer would buy these things and leave it up to the shop to set up.

I am not much subject to hammer bite by 1911 or P210, so I would probably be OK.
    Awaiting sponsorship for Team Mediocre.

It’s probably the same kind of guy as the Porsche owner who buys a sports car but lets the dealership pick the tires because they don’t know any better.

There are a lot of unsophisticated users of high end equipment that buy them because they think they’re buying performance.

But don’t know how to get performance out of their equipment.
