Holosun 507 Competition: Large Window / CRS Sight

Apparently being introduced at SHOT show is this large window competition oriented sight, competing with the Trijicon SRO. Vendors are starting to put it up on their web sites with pre-orders, for example below:

    https://www.rainierarms.com/holosun-...x-sight-green/

The 507Comp handgun sight features a large 1.1” x 0.87” objective lens for enhanced shooting performance and Holosun’s new Competition Reticle System (CRS) available with a red or green LED. CRS is an enhanced Multi-Reticle System with four components including a precision 2MOA dot, an 8MOA circle, 20MOA circle, and 32MOA circle with multiple combination settings to suit individual shooter’s preference.

    Features:

Up to 50,000 Hour Battery Life
Shake Awake™ Technology with Last Setting Recall
Enlarged Window for Enhanced Field Of View
Competition Reticle System (CRS): 2 MOA Dot with 8/20/32 MOA Circle
Parallax Free & Unlimited Eye Relief

    Specifications:

    Travel Range ± 30 MOA
Reticle Brightness: 6 Daylight & 2 Night Vision Compatible Settings
1 MOA Windage & Elevation Adjustment Per Click
    Window Size: 1.1 × 0.87 in
    7075 T6 Aluminum Housing

The "Competition Reticle System" with selectable circles is new. Curious what our resident USPSA/IPDA shooters think of that.

I am extremely excited that this has an 8 moa circle option like the 407 CO!

I am curious about the 20 moa circle, which seems new to Holosun?

I’d love to hear the thought and research that went into it. Holosun typically gets informed opinions to design their equipment so I’ll bet there is some specific application for it that we aren’t noticing.

Like maybe a 25 yard B8 or some other circle target at distance?

Could also be an IDPA -0 head or or something like that?

In my hands, the 32MOA makes it hard to see any target through the reticle unlike the 64 which works well for me.

This one, I’ll probably sit out until people use them for competition and see how they like them.

When you guys get yours, I would appreciate it if you could check the QRC for errors, especially the logic for going from dot to circle etc.

Apparently the window is the same (or nearly the same) size as the AEMS carbine optic.

I am not sure about competition use, and a lot will depend on the clarity of the display, but this seems like the killer EDC and performance defensive shooting optic.

ASSuming I did my sums correctly, 20 MOA is about the size of an NRA B-8 8 ring/black (5.24" 20 MOA vs 5.54" B-8 8 ring) at 25 yd:

Trijicon needs to be sending thank-you notes to Holosun on every holiday for keeping the RMR mounting pattern alive.
Not certain about the reticle on this one but without shooting one it is impossible to say one way or another.
Doesn't read posts longer than two paragraphs.
