    Barrel length: 3.1 inches.
    Ammunition: Hornady .30 Super Carry 100gr FTX Critical Defense (90050)
    Test media: 10% Vyse Ballistics Gel.
    Distance: 10 feet.
    Chronograph: Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph G2.
    Five shot velocity average: 1170 fps
    BB Calibration two shots: 3.8, 3.7 Inches.

    I noticed that the .30 Super Carry comes in 20 round boxes, whereas Hornady usually puts everything 9mm and smaller in 25 rd boxes.

    I think Hornady puts all of their FTX rounds in 20 round boxes.

    Yeah, at least in these tests, all of them seem to perform almost identical to each other. But I guess that is the benefit of being able to piggyback off of 30 years of 9mm development.

    I assume it is to keep the price per box closer to that of 9x19mm.

    Still it seems odd for a cartridge which is touted primarily for its increased magazine capacity.

    It may seem to be an inconsequential difference until an ammo supply shortage limits the number of boxes a retailer will sell you

    Me too. Unfortunately, other than Federal introducing it in their punch line, I haven't heard anything new coming out of SHOT.
