    Thanks - I'll look into that. My G17 is dedicated to range and competition usage, so I don't have constraints on experimenting with springs.

    You might try switching to another pistol and shooting it for a while and then trying the model 17 again. I think the "dip" pertains to something that you are doing without realizing this action. Something might be gripping a certain way, snatching the trigger, or pushing forward when pulling trigger. A heavy recoil spring is a possible cause. Even some types of flinching can do this. I bet that a knowledgeable coach could observe and help you figure out the issue.
