I don't know about the BMW part but there's a sticker on the bottom of the optic that says made in China.

Went into my trash folder and found the email:

    Hi Chris,
Yes, they are 100% shockproof. Our optics are made in a factory in China that also makes BMW parts. After testing with many factories in many areas the products they made for us held up better in testing. They could also be produced in quantities that would allow us to have more competitive pricing and extend the savings to the customers.

I need to measure windows but I'm going to say the window on the Duty is probably 10% smaller than the window on the Acro.

Length of the optic body is pretty much the same. Width is a little smaller on the Duty but the battery cap is taller. This means the Duty's overall thickness is greater than the Acro.

Max brightness for the Duty is probably setting #8 on the Acro. Maybe setting 9. The Duty does not the #10 over-bright setting of the Acro.

Weight is 2.6 ounces for the Duty and 2.0 for the Acro.

There is more distortion in the Duty's image. It is probably close to the 509T X2 in this regard.

So slightly wider and heavier but with a smaller set of lenses and not as high a max illumination. All this for $200 less than the Aimpoint.

Seems decent overall. I'm guessing it is the Swamp Fox Kraken with only one recoil lug.

Edit to add it is kind of a failure. I say this because it is too wide to correctly fit into a Glock 7390RDS. The battery cap hits the right edge of the holster body. The holster can be flexed away to get the gun holstered but this slight bowing causes the hood not to close completely. It also rubs a little in a Blackhawk T and the Alien Gear. Seems odd for a red dot called "Duty." Will the optic fit in something like the new RDSO or the Safariland Vault? Unfortunately I don't have either of these new holsters.

    CHPWS

On a whim, bought one of their Comp models, installed on a G17 that I had been running a RM06 on for years (slide had been milled to fit the RMR).

I have no intentions of torture or drop testing it.

Got about 3,000 rounds through it. So far so good.

Vault - EDC, Comp, and Duty will fit
7360 - EDC, Comp, and Duty will fit

    Seen a few…

We’ve had an early DUTY optic on a work gun for several months now(G45). Several thousand rounds, accidentally hit indoor range concrete floor a couple of times-no issues to report. Same battery, but we try to remember to turn off after use and it has “shake awake”.The sight has a simple rear iron sight in its housing which is efficient.
Another instructor has a COMP version on his training gun-also a G 45- and has thousands of rounds on it. No problems reported, and runs his gun hard: clearances off the sight, etc.. He does not drop it a la Cowan, but it sees a lot of cycling.
I also observed 4 COMP sights at the GSSF Shootoff last month. They were mounted on Gen5 G20s, shooting Underwood 180 grain range ammo at 1250fps, according to the box. I’d estimate 500 rounds on each sight, which is not a lot by PF standards, but a bit significant, imo.
I have an ACRO P2 on my personal gun, but the C&H sights seem adequate. The finish on the first shows a little wear, and the glass is not perfect, but serviceable to my eyes. These could certainly be a less expensive training alternative.

This may or may not be the CHPWS Duty sold under a different name. Other than missing the little flat rear sight outline in the rear glass it sure looks the same:

Aaron Cowan has his 2,000 round review up on Patreon of the Duty.

The battery cap popped off a couple times in drop testing. He was able to get it back on each time and the optic worked afterward. In addition to the cap popping off, he noted the holster incompatibility he saw with the Swamp Fox Kraken.

CHPWS has apparently acknowledged both issues and is supposed to be coming out with a new battery cap.

More news. It isn't just a different battery cap. This will be a new version of the Duty. The new thinner battery cap will not fit the existing unit.
