    Don’t trust factory optic mounting.

I have learned to never trust factory mounting of optics.

The screws were on their way to working loose.

No visible loctite on ends of screws.

The milling pocket isn’t square enough. That lip / curve prevents the optic from seating flush.

    Dremel most likely.

I would choose a flat file myself or modify the cheapest part.

Shows good sense for the manufacturer and consideration for the customer, same idea as Platypus and Oracle. Staccato may have dropped the ball.

Well, work with what you have. I would try to get FLG to come out of retirement and fire up the milling machine.

Tried a flat file but took too long.

And couldn’t relieve the innermost curve.

    So. Dremel.

    Alcohol and loctite screws.

Reinstall with a little E6000 on the nose and tail… and voila!

    No daylight.

There seem to be a lot of mill marks on that slide.

Interesting development on Arfcom in their RIA 5.0 thread - a member there has discovered the RIA 5.0 can use cheap and plentiful CZ75 Magazines.

    https://www.ar15.com/forums/handguns...age=3#i2434043

    Stock mags:

    CZ75 mags poly basepad:

"I couldn’t resist a trip to the range. Ammo was my minor PF USPSA load. I used the CZ[75] mags only. First two mags I just blasted away. No failures, recoil negligible. In defense of my groups, I can’t see the sights…"

As I hate having to add 10+ new magazines for each new pistol, the ability to use mags I already stock makes this pistol much more attractive for me. And CZ75 mags are widely available and are pretty close to Glock mags, $20-25.

Sitting in the safe with a bunch of other random guns I’ll probably never use either.

It doesn’t have any particularly redeeming qualities. If I could get a few extra recoil springs, I could tinker with tuning out the nose dive.
