Shithead stays in the restroom for an hour. He has 2 rifles, 4 x 30 round mags and a pistol.

At 15 seconds, Eli hearing the shots, pushes girlfriend down.
Draws Glock 19 and uses column as cover.
From 43 yards, fires x 2, pauses to clear lane of panicking customers and then fires x 2 more, striking shithead twice, who tries to retreat into the bathroom.
Losing the angle, Eli closes to 20 yards and fires x 4, striking shithead with all 4.

He states his Grandfather taught him to shoot at age 11.

Eli's gun was released to the lawyer today.

Shithead was a student of WW2, the NAZIs and mass shooters. He researched them and paid careful attention to factors that made for higher body counts like gunfree zones.
Shithead was a loser whose life had recently spiraled into complete loserhood.
GF claims he was physically abusive but never reported it, including sticking a gun in her mouth.

Eli truly saved the day. This young man deserves some serious recognition!

My takeaways:
Stay out of public restrooms.* I’m a germaphobe, so that’s not my concern.
Stay out of the mall.
Always scan for cover. It’s a good mental exercise.

*And all of those other places you see in movies, and start yelling, “Don’t Go In There!”

Additional clarification in this video.
The lawyer mentions the concept of the OODA loop and states that the quickness of his Orientation time was what stood out in his response.
Eli carried at 4:00 hip.
Eli Braced his forearms on a tall garbage can.
Shithead possibly fired 20-ish rounds.
Eli covered downed shitheads for a few moments, then reholstered.
Police got there right after the shooting, very quick response time.
Lawyer felt that the Greenwood police were professional and demonstrated great concern for Eli's well being.
Apparently on Facebook the lawyer stated that the ammo was Blazer brass ball.

So two for four at 43 yards, 4 for 4 at 20 yards, and 2 for 2 at 8.3 yards.

With ball ammo.

With a Gen5 Glock 19 using shitty stock sights that were damaged...backed up only with what he'd learned from his grandfather and regular dryfire to reenforce it.

Enough emotional control to assure his foreground and background. Enough tactical sense to use concealment/cover and maneuver to his advantage.

What I'm seeing there is someone who was operating from the front of his brain, not his amygdala. He wasn't scared shitless of dying. He was focused on stopping the threat...and in the moment he was able to read, process, and appropriately react.

A decent gun, some real work to build skill with it, and clarity of purpose seems to be a pretty solid combination if you are interested in stopping bad guys, eh?
