    Swiss Bunker System

If you have an interest in Switzerland, citizen-soldiery, survivalism, all manner of fortifications, etc, you'll probably be enthralled with this video. There's some relation of the topic to current day events with Russian aggression, as well:

    That's super interesting.

Other than that, it's best to not try and take over Switzerland. It won't go well.

I also thought it was interesting. One thing I kept thinking as he was climbing ladders up mountains and hugging his way along narrow cliff trails was...isn't there a front door somewhere you could use? I mean, it can't be that the only way in and out of these things is a rickety ladder headed up a cliff face. Can it?

Maybe that's part of the defense to it, and an explanation why all the artillery pieces were left in place. After all, Swiss infantry are essentially all mountain warfare trained troops...it'd make sense to take advantage of that disparity on your home turf and make it impossible to assault by sealing up whatever large, easily traversable entrances were used to load in the heavy equipment.

That makes sense… because Russia will roll their tanks in, etc. if they can’t get to you they can’t get to you.

That was fascinating. Thanks for posting it.

That was really interesting. It wasn’t clear if some of those artillery pieces were still functional or if they were decommissioned. Imagined having your own bunker with an artillery piece.
