For all my fellow Warhammer 40k fans

Henry Cavill to star in and help produce a W40k series on Amazon

Inquisitor series? Gaunt’s Ghosts or other Guard unit? Space Marine? Adeptus Mechanicus? What’s your preference?

I’m torn between an Inquisitor Series or a Space Marine series. Maybe either with some Sisters of Battle thrown in.

An Eisenhorn series has been in Developmental Hell with Frank Spotnitz for a couple of years.
Cavill would be an excellent Eisenhorn, who was a big handsome bastard. At first.
The Eisenhorn series was my introduction to the universe, and it does a very good job of establishing all the players and factions, as well as the stakes involved.

I was about to say something snarky about since it’s Amazon a bunch of woke diversity casting, but then I realized that they’ve pretty much got that covered if they include Eldar.

I don’t do the games, but I’ve read a bunch of the books. Caiphus Cain was my intro.

I was a BattleTech nerd so I'm W40K curious. Thing is, just like the BattleTech universe expanded faster than I could keep up, the W40K universe seems to be just a big and I have no idea where to start with the books.

If you go to the wiki page and scroll down to the book series. Starting with the Horus Heresy books may help. I started with the Ciaphus Cane omnibus. Then read the Space Wolf omnibus. I vote you start with the Space Wolf omnibus. Hard to go wrong with anything Dan Annette writes. Or William King.

Tabletop sci-fi game that started as a parody and satire of all things sci-fi in the 80s that forgot it was satire in the late-90s, early-00s and is coming back around to remembering that it's satire.

Also: It's a miniature tabletop wargame made by a miniature company, not a gaming company. So the models are ridiculously expensive.

I don't understand that, BattleTech has been frozen in stasis for most of the last two decades, only recently thawing out.
And remember when demons and beasts cast their darkness, you have God's love - and Browning's wrath - to guide you.

Helsreach by Aaron Dembski-Bowden is probably the single best stand-alone intro book I can think of. The audiobook is also fantastic, and a fan made an animated version and applied some of the audiobook dialogue. Dude learned to mo-cap for it and everything, it's real good.
