I've been messing with the Shaffer mount for a while now. So far, it is the best option I have found for my needs.

I opted for the right-side mount and put it on the left to kick the light back a little further for my short arms. This does cause a little more shadowing than I would like but puts the tail cap within reach and really lights up the front sight. I may end up taking the mag clamp off to reduce the shadowing a bit.

That's a really nice solution for a sling mount AND a light mount.

I'm struggling to figure out how to get my sling where I want it in addition to positioning my light properly.

Is the sling mount on that thing rotation limited?

    Just to clarify….

It's “limited” in that it has a limited range of motion (maybe 15-20°?), or “limited” as in it's rigidly fixed and prevents any protection at all?

I prefer the former, and also agree that it looks like a great solution.

Does the above offend? If you have paid to be here, you can click here to put it in context.

Shaffer's website says they use Grovtec "Limited Rotation" cups. Grovtec lists full rotation, limited rotation, and no rotation cups all separately. Limited Rotation is just that.

Limited range of motion, approx. 20° on each axis.

    I can pee outside.
I picked one up about a week ago.

The swivel on the stock was miserable.
The LOP of the stock works fine without adding any plates.
Converted to lefty easily, including the safety.

I installed the Grovetech rear and front qd's.

Keep us updated on how the Schaffer mount hold up on the factory for end! I had a Scout light mounted directly to the barrel clamp mlok but it didn’t work out well. The clamp constantly moved and the the mlok slit was beat up pretty bad from all the recoil.

Yeah, I just took the barrel clamp off my a300s and chucked them. Thus far the handguard MLOK slots don't seem to be suffering much under recoil with a Streamlight scout-light-we-have-at-home on it, but I've only got a couple hundred rounds through it in that configuration so far.
