.45 colt velocities from handguns and carbines

I did this with my .357s. Now I'm going to buckle down with the .45 colt. I'll get some velocities with my 4 5/8" Blackhawk as well.

I'm going to work on true blue and enforcer next.

I never chrono'd my loads but I put together some hot 45ACP loads using Ramshot Silhouette and 230 grain hollowpoints for a pin match that performed very well.

Hodgdon shows loads for 45 Colt in their Reloading Data Center.

Have you tried HS6 yet ? The seemed to be available when other powders were not.

Congratulations on that mountain gun, I had one way back when they were new and wished I’d kept it.

No, it's been a bit more pricey then I really want to spend right now.

Thanks 👍. Definitely my new favorite gun

A 270 gr bullet at 950 fps will shoot completely through just about anything you will encounter. If it groups well, you will gain little by increasing velocity. An ACP cylinder would be a worthwhile investment. Fun plus cheap shooting.

I understand that you are doing research and don't imply that you should cease. I'm partial to the above load and expressed an opinion or bias.
