A friend's spouse from Ann Arbor, MI, has decided she wants to start carrying a firearm for defense of self and her children. She's not super familiar with firearms, and has come to the decision somewhat reluctantly, but apparently some asshole has been going around making statements about doing harm to her synagogue. Who would y'all recommend for a good firearms trainer to help her get started? I'm thinking a 4 hour familiarization course and a chance to try several different handguns to see what works best for her, ideally followed up by some actual training for reasonable concealed carry?
