Shook moth ball's out of another one

After pulling an SP101 357 I'd had but never fired (by me) for 20years out
of the safe a couple weeks ago and seeing what I've been missing being
having been wrapped up in 45's and plastic 9's, I pulled out another one
that I picked up close to 40 or so years ago.
This one's an old I'm thinking late 60's mfg Charter Arm's Undercover,
it's not something that ever really turned my screw's but at the time
couldn't say no for $50.00, it's pretty pristine, shoots Federal 158gr LSWC
and 148gr WC to poa at 7-8yd's with the Hoag grips that are on it,
the sa trigger is sweet, between 2.5 &3 lb but the da is a bitch that goes
way beyond the 12lb max on my gauge, must be be 15-16lb.
I'm likely going to have rotator cuff surgery in the spring and I'm thinking
a snub would make for a pretty good weak hand pocket gun during recovery.
I've got a Mika pocket holster coming, figuring I'll train with the CA until my
hunt for an LCR bear's fruit.
The crazy price of 38 ammo has me thinking, maybe I should blow the dust
off my Square Deal and set it up for 38's though.
Hope to run some Federal's through the SP later today.

@D-der - I think you're on the right track for a recovery gun. Eye surgery this summer put me in the house for a couple of weeks, and one is told to be careful, no shocks.
I settled for a bit on a 2" 317, and dry practiced a lot, to the count of over two thousand snaps. It sparked a renewed interest in snubs, and when I could shoot again I worked with a 642 and venerable 649.
Nothing wrong I would think with the Charter.
Best of luck with the surgery...

Thanks very much, gonna try and get through snow removal (cautiously),
and get to early spring to have surgery from what I'm told, It'll likely take
5-6 month's with pt to be good to go, hoping to become reasonably proficient
with a support handed 2" over the next few month's
The Federal's run like ace's through the SP101, shoot to poa.
It would seem 148 and 156gr fit the bill quite well in these two gun's, hopefully
when I picj up a replacement for the CA poa poi will be comparable.
I ran a couple of mags through my carry XL before I'd had enough and I've
gotta say, as much as shooting wheel gun's again have me hooked, shooting
a 15rd, RDS 4.5 lb trigger 7-30 yds was like hitting the easy button.
