After pulling an SP101 357 I'd had but never fired (by me) for 20years out
of the safe a couple weeks ago and seeing what I've been missing being
having been wrapped up in 45's and plastic 9's, I pulled out another one
that I picked up close to 40 or so years ago.
This one's an old I'm thinking late 60's mfg Charter Arm's Undercover,
it's not something that ever really turned my screw's but at the time
couldn't say no for $50.00, it's pretty pristine, shoots Federal 158gr LSWC
and 148gr WC to poa at 7-8yd's with the Hoag grips that are on it,
the sa trigger is sweet, between 2.5 &3 lb but the da is a bitch that goes
way beyond the 12lb max on my gauge, must be be 15-16lb.
I'm likely going to have rotator cuff surgery in the spring and I'm thinking
a snub would make for a pretty good weak hand pocket gun during recovery.
I've got a Mika pocket holster coming, figuring I'll train with the CA until my
hunt for an LCR bear's fruit.
The crazy price of 38 ammo has me thinking, maybe I should blow the dust
off my Square Deal and set it up for 38's though.
Hope to run some Federal's through the SP later today.
