Thread: Occidental Leather Holsters

    Occidental Leather Holsters

After endless searching, I've decided to place an order for their Stronghold Pancake holster and single mag pouch for my HK45 Compact. I corresponded with Occidental Leather and their response was very quick and professional. As I understand it, their designs are developed by TT Gunleather and sold by Occidental. Product lead time is SIX DAYS, yes, days and not months.

I will post pics and a review upon receipt. Should receive the holster the week of March 4th.

Thought I'd share for those seeking a decent leather holster without a prolonged wait.

IMO, Tim (TT Gunleather) and his father's company Occidental Leather makes fantastic holsters made to Tim's design. Tim (TT) is a one man shop so he charged less but has a backlog, Occidental will make your holster in less than 14 days if it isn't in stock but cost a bit more and is overseen by Tim. I've owned a VMII and compared it to the holsters made by TT and Occidental and prefer the lower sitting design of both Tim and Occidental personally. I now wear an Occidental Phoenix made for my M&P FS9 with my M&P 9c. Here's some pics from when they were still pretty new.

With their customer service to date, I'm sure I'll be pleased. If so, I'll be ordering more. I hope that this pancake will serve a dual purpose for both my HK45c and P30. My MS VMII works for both, so one can only hope.

BTW, nice to see you both over here.

While I've never owned anything from the Occidental shop I am very familiar with Tim's work. I have purchased numerous holsters, pouches, and belts from him prior to going all kydex on my carry gear. He is top shelf to work with and produces gear well worth the coin and well worth the wait.

On two occasions I wanted something that didn't really exist in the form I wanted. Once I spec'd out what I wanted and he put the pencil to paper and created a gem for me. It's now on his website for sale (AIWB rig for P238 and G26). On another occasion I couldn't find a LCP pocket holster I was overly happy with so I designed one myself. I sketched it out, including measurements, detailed exactly what I wanted (and why). I then sent him PDFs of my sketches and notes. He made it exactly like I wanted. It's not on his site but if anyone is interested I can send them pics via e-mail (or post them in a separate thread or via PM). He can make you one by request. No ... I don't get any royalties or kickbacks so this is NOT a commercial. I am just a VERY satisfied customer.

Do you have a pic of your G26 AIWB btw?

Tim just finished my custom M&Pc pocket holster as the standard one that he made didn't work for me personally thanks to my short thumbs and I wanted to be able to push it off The original one which should work for the majority of people is now available in my buddies contest on his blog:

I'll post pics of both the AIWB and Pocket holster if Photobucket decides to cooperate. It's not right now.

Good looking pocket holster you have there too.

EDIT: Here they both are. If you want more info on either I have posted "review" threads on other sites. GOOGLE will find them pretty easily.

    LCP Pocket

The P238 AIWB pic on his TT site is actually my gun. I sent him that pic via e-mail after receiving the holster.
