Why Is This Not a Thing?

    A waist-mounted brass-catcher for revolver shooting.

So, like a belt-mounted dump pouch with a rigid ring round the opening (to hold it open) that you wear in front?

My first thought is "great idea for range use," but my second thought is that using something like that could build in undesired muscle memory mechanical action patterns for defensive use when performing ejections and reloads.

The kids at the range look at me funny when I’m shooting the s&w model 17 & I move the brass bucket in front of me. After about 2 reloads they understand.

I think it would only work for moon clipped guns. Loose brass would probably go everywhere. Also, a brass bag so close to my belt line would probably have me unload the brass in a clumsy way that would defeat good handling skills. I think that it would make tend to point the muzzle too far up towards my head.

I would think that skeet pouch, worn on the belt at 11 O-Clock, would work pretty well for this.

I'm a big fan of the five gallon bucket myself. Nice wide mouth for speed ejections.
