Was asked to fix a LB Harball 1911 that cracked its frame.
As we are in a slow patch in the shop, this recieved more attention that it really should have. The filler rod has some stabilizers in it to help with carbide formation, which we assume is the cause of failure. That really is a total WAG, but it gave us a starting point and something to argue over.
Here's hoping it works as planned!

Surprised no one mentioned the botched job on the inside of the DC channel, where the weld got messed up on the inside.
