I just borrowed three other magazines from a friend (DW OEM and Metalform) and none of them engaged the slide stop at all. It was like there no magazine in the gun when I cycled the slide.

A friend was having similar issues with his new DW 9mm. He lightly polished the side of the slide stop that makes contact with the plunger and the issue went away.
