    Fixed:

The only real small ones I have actually used to any extent are the ESEE Candiru and the Becker Remora, both of which are pretty tiny and much less capable than - for instance - an ESEE Izula.

The Remora was - in my opinion - a better knife for every day carry when it was offered in stainless steel rather than the current "1095 CroVan" production model.

Between the two, I would give the Candiru the nod right now just because a set of grip scales can easily be bought, and both of these knives need scales if I put very much physical effort into actually cutting with them.

    Folding:

    Hands down, the Spyderco Dragonfly.

One of the best solutions I have found for particularly restrictive locations is a Spyderco Dodo. The blade is 2.06 inches, but the handle is relatively large. This knife was specifically designed for strict, politically correct environments. Unfortunately it is discontinued but is occasionally made in limited runs.

I have two of Murray Carter's knives and find them splendid. It would be surprising if he could not provide something for you.

Not much information on the purpose of the tool

Handle is much more important than blade

Probably a Delica with a blade shortened to the legal length

You have a usable handle and a quality made locking folder

Handles smaller than the Delica are difficult to do real work with

    This ^^^^

The JanDelica - https://5x5combatsolutions.com/janich-custom is really a solid choice. I have a Kahr-version bought when I lived in Chicago. A zip-tie, 5x5 Pickpocket, or Wiseman Fang make it a nice solid quick open option.

Damn, I wish I had thought of that when I was going to Chicago every month. I started to buy one of the little Chicago knives several times but couldn't imagine the tiny handle working for deployment or being something to hold onto.

I have been carrying this Dragonfly 2 for almost 4 years now. I really like it. I lost the clip on it due to not tightening the screws after converting it for lefty. I had to order another from Spyderco. Otherwise no issues. I'm no knife nut for sure, and I don't think the steel of this knife is particularly exotic, but I like how compact and lightweight it is. Blade length is 2.28" which is under 6 cm I believe.

On the left, Mora Eldris and Condor Otzi (I added a handle wrap)

Center, Fred Perrin La Griffe, Emerson/Perrin La Griffe, Fred Perrin Heron

Right, AG Russell Woodswalker and Boker CLB Subcom.

I forgot to mention the Woodswalker earlier. It might be right at the edge of the blade limit, but you can get both nice leather pocket sheaths, or good Kydex ones for it. It cuts like a demon, is not billed as "tactical" and is cheap. It's really one of the greatest deals in the knife world.

Any possibility of getting a Pro-Tech Godson (3.15 inch blade) and have a knife smith shorten it down to your legal length?

Or just contact Pro-Tech and see if they can do that job for you.

    My Godson is shown below.
