I need to recant on this.... had another bowl of the MB Plum and enjoyed it much more than the first. Might have been the whiskey sour on this one...

The MacBaren Plumbcake has sat sealed for over a month. I finally cracked it tonight. Not bad. A better smoke than it smells out of the can. Evening Stroll is still my current favorite, but this is right up there. Prolly #3 behind Kendal Black Cherry.

Correction. 4 months. Damn. I’m getting old. Time flies! Lol

Lol. It’s a propane tank with a slice of popple on it!

I retract my previous statement and offer the following ammendment:

In case you want to “make” one of your own...here’s the blueprints. 😁

It’s hovering around 0*F up here. I was out there enjoying the pipe last night and realized I had nothing to put my drink on. Not wanting to freeze my butt off and walk 30yds to the house, I had to scrounge around and improvise. Looking at it today, I might actually take a trashed, out of date tank and affix a disk on it.

    Suggestion......
Drill a hole for a hose and mount a propane fired heater onto the wood disc.

I’ve got a couple propane heaters in there already, as well as a big mofo kerosene torpedo. Heats not an issue. Having a place to put my whiskey and pipe...issue.

It's aboot -20°F windchill, today. My mother dropped off about ten pounds of leftover hotdogs from a work event, last night. And today's ski trip was canceled for the better half's vomit-and-faint level migraine.

Plan B: Pack a wool blanket, tarp, short axe, hotdogs, thermos of hot cocoa, canteen, etc. in a good backpack. Have kids pack hatchets, canteens, and other necessaries in theirs. Dissappear in the woods to the bank of a mountain creek, have them build me a nice big fire while I pack a pipe, roast hotdogs, shoot any crows in range if things go well, hang out a bit, head home to make a pasta supper.

As my pipe will be a cob full of a balkan blend, here's a link to Christopher Morley's Letter to Boonville:
