GIANT Problem with PayPal Terms of Service

I submitted my request to delete my account today. Note if you just close it they retain your data and you can reopen it later. Deleting it is irreversible and, supposedly, removes your data.

While I'm not terribly worked up over the latest ToS, it did remind me that it's an open avenue of attack and I don't need to be bothered with it if something were to happen.

How did you delete it? I'm only seeing an option to close the account.

Once you select the option to close it, the next screen should give you an option to delete it as well.

I think customer service is a bot with voice recognition that can actually carry on a conversation.

I just closed and deleted mine after I removed my bank.

Once you select the option to close it, the next screen should give you an option to delete it as well.

I cancelled and deleted mine when they announced this. Don't care what they say about rescinding it, I dont trust them. I use USPS money orders for any purchases I make from various forums. If a vendor wont take my cc or a MO, then I don't need what they are selling.

PayPal did not make that easy. There's a disconnect between the app and the website. The app shows many more "automatic payment methods" than the website, all of which have to be deleted before you can close the account and delete your data. After I'd done that, the app entered an endless loop of sending codes by text to confirm my identity so...back to the website, where that aspect went smoothly. Reason for closing? "Other: PayPal's policies are repugnant."
