I recall overhearing a conversation at a local gun counter here in Atlanta. Middle aged woman came in seeking home defense advice. Counter guy was retired APD officer who used to work in a “robbery squad” which sounded similar to the NYPD Stakeout unit made famous by Cirillo’s exploits. He espoused that in his 17 gunfights his 4” Model 10 with 158 grain did fine everytime! That is just wild!

Uniformed officers required to use 4” model. So your revolver was most likely used by a detective or plain clothes unit. I was a NYC Transit Police Officer in 1988 to 1990.

If it makes you feel better, there’s still Feds carrying Glocks in El Paso Saddlery leather and I know one Agent rocking his Glock 19 in a full floral carved rig from Kirkpatrick leather.

    re: border patrol holsters,

I know you mean the Jordan style “suicide strap” style but the last three issued USBP leather duty holsters were a mix of Don Hume and Aker thumb breaks for revolvers, Beretta 96D and HK’s respectively.

Don Hume still offers this holster cut for the Colt Lawman / Trooper / Python which would fit an OP.

Killjoy. Next you'll tell us that the FBI doesn't use Tommy Gun's anymore.
19 in a floral carved rig? I like his swagger.

They have Tommy guns, they just don’t use them on the street anymore.

Per local tradition, Agents here get to shoot the Tommy gun as part of their last firearms qualification day before retiring. Otherwise their main function is public relations during the range day for the FBI’s Citizens Academy program.

The Model 28 I posted a thread earlier in this subforum I think...he started his career in the 1970's with the 28, and in 1987 the town transitioned to Sig P226 (it was a small NY podunk town next to West Point NY...well, not podunk anymore I guess...).

He fortunately kept the box and docs, and even the bag the 3rd spare mag (Factory Sig, zipperback!) came in...the rest of his duty mags were MecGar.

Just one of several types of primary weapons I carried over the years, but I carried this S&W model 66 from early '74, till the L-Frames came out in '80. Shot the heck out of it, using mostly Magnum ammunition. By '80, it was somewhat the worse for wear, so I sent it back to S&W for overhaul. Now the only original parts are the frame, side plate and rear sight.

Did Don Hume make quality stuff at one time?

I’ve seen negative comments here, and I tried one of their expensive security holsters because I got it new and for cheap. It was basically unusable. Maybe I had a lemon, or maybe the security holsters are not their best stuff.
