Please recommend a strong quality dog collar

100lb dog 19” around the neck behind the ears. Need something that won’t break. Any ideas. I recently adopted a female Rottweiler from a military divorcee that deployed and neither party wants the dog. Dog is currently rambunctious and was not trained. So till I get her trained i need a good just in case collar. I have a quality pinch collar but don’t eish to use exclusively.

I’d go with a fur saver collar. All of my police dogs wore them. Here’s a link for one at Ray Allen. Herm Sprenger

Just make sure the 19” collar can go over your Rotties head.
Just a dog chauffeur that used to hold the dumb end of the leash.

Get a herm spranger and a dominant dog collar (that’s what they are called)

    Additionally I like these

They make collars for large breeds as well (my parents use them on their gamedogs): http://www.bulldogsupplycompany.com/

However I have a Caucasian Ovcharka and use these (very durable and not “tactical” etc while being easy to take off)

Context… I have a roughly 100 lb rambunctious 14 mo. old GSD. E-collar has been a godsend for training. I have an inexpensive one from TSC, but our trainer recommended the Garmin model that is available on Amazon. Truly, the sky is the limit. For their hunting dogs, they have a three channel Garmin E-Collar system that is 1k. That’s above my ability and limit, but the reasonable one is around $300. You have to be smart with the e-collar, but it is effective. Basically, the goal is to associate a “nick” from the e-collar with a jerk from a prong collar. Once that’s accomplished, you’ve basically got off lead control of the dog. I am a believer.

Good luck with the dog and thanks for giving it a home!
