Shot pretty good. Scored and 80 on the ASP 10 round skill check
Snagged a few minutes midday today and did this skills check on a "Dot Torture" page at 3 yards. I was checking a newly mounted Holosun EPS on a G45. In the spirit of a little time pressure, I put a par time of 4 seconds on the timer for all shots except the 1-reload-1 at 6 seconds. Shot out of a Level 3 duty rig. Support hand was from "Ready".
Result: clean, no OT. I think I may use this as a quick warmup weekly, and also reduce time and maybe increase distance.
Neat little confirmation eval, methinks...
Number 48 in my personal drill book. Good stuff.
I think we did this as a DOTW at one point here.
ETA: I looked, I don't think we did.

So I googled this, and found a drill that's D1 x 2, D2, and D6. Is there another variant of this? Always looking for low-round-count drills to run.
Thanks
I searched on this site using "ASP 10 round dot torture" and got posts on March 10, 2022. Basically you use the dot torture target/page for 10 rounds rather than 50. I put a time par-4seconds-to put some pressure on myself. Cleaned it at 3, so I'm going to drop to 3.5 and maybe back up a yard.
No par time and it's a trigger drill like dot torture. OK, but I'm putting a little time pressure on myself. It does show one at 3 the offset which I think is valuable for me shooting a dot gun. For my eyes, I have to hold top of circle for impact to be at inside bottom of circle...
Huh-I just looked at the @03RN video, and we have two different drills/evals. To clarify, I'm using a dot torture target...

The ASP 10-round Skill Check I have in my drill book is as follows:
Range: 7yards
Target: USPSA silhouette
Rounds: 10
Start position: concealed, or retention holster
3 strings. Record times & points for each.
String 1: @ START, draw & fire 1st. Repeat.
String 2: (Spaulding Skill on Demand Drill)
@START, draw & fire 2 shots to head.
String 3: (Bill Drill) @START, draw & fire 6
shots, C.O.M.
Scoring: add total points (A=5, B/C=3, D=1). Add total time for all strings. Divide points by time, then multiply by 12.5
Standards:
Competent: 25-49.9
Professional: 50-74.9
Advanced: 75-99.9
Master: 100+
Can't remember where I copied it from though. But it's a fun one!
