Finally!!! I was successful installing my new Trigger.

I posted this update regarding the trigger install on my new FM9, AR pistol build in the “Ask The Armorer” sub-forum. But I find I’m experiencing some testosterone driven urge to brag about my success here! 🤣 😉 ha ha! (…probably because I’m generally NOT particularly good with a lot of DIY!) 🤷 Seriously tho,.. my first installation attempt was an abject failure. You can read it here:

I took another shot today at installing the CMC Flat Face 2.5 lb AR Trigger. This time it was a complete Success!! . And It looks Awesome!!

In preparation, I even spent a couple hours last night making a slave pin by cutting down a 5/32 drill bit shank to fit. Just in case the trigger install failed again, I’d have an easier time if I had to re-install the OEM trigger.

I guess I learned a lesson about which trigger pin hole to line up first /w the punch. I also made installing the anti walk pins a bit easier by inserting a set screw on one side and having a wider, sturdier surface to tap on /w the brass hammer.

Honestly,.. this time went so smoothly I can’t for the life of me understand why the first time was so frustratingly failure prone.

BTW, DIY slave pin worked great. I have it inserted & holding in the trigger disconnect in place on the old trigger mechanism. So hopefully If I have to re-install it,.. it should be a breeze.

I’m sure this is all probably a big Yawn for most of you guys,.. but it is pretty satisfying to know that on my very first pistol build, and as a fairly NooB shooter, I was able to solve this issue with a little PFC, Google-Fu & YouTube research. 😁

WoW!! This 2.5 lb CMC Trigger is Light. Maybe too light for a PDW. NO Take up,.. no creep,.. just Think about pulling the trigger & BANG!!

Weapon & AEMS Holosun is damned accurate. Even with the cheap Geco ammo. At least it is @25 yds & in. Heading to the State Game area in the morning and setting up my steel targets. We’ll see how I do with a little more dynamic shooting scenario.
