I am having a hard time finding larger, hand filling grips for my Ruger Flattop 44 Special. I would really like to have something like Pachmayr or Houge over molded grips to aid in shooting higher recoiling handloads but they don't make them.
I have search the web high and low but am only finding the small grip panels. Texas grips makes extended wood grips for these but they are wood and look kind of slick.
Any ideas?
That's going to be a tough one.
"Maybe" (??) a set of Pachmyer's made for the XR3-Red grip frame can be modified to fit?
You likely know this but you've got the old XR3 grip frame and it went out in 1962 replaced by the XR3-Red, it's also the same grip frame as the original Single Six.
Maybe put a search on ebay using the those terms "XR3", Ruger Flattop". They'll send you email alerts for your search terms. That's done me well a few times with grips & holsters for less common guns.
