    X-Grip Failure. Known issue?

I had an X-Grip adapter disintegrate on me today.
    ~7-8 years old. Occasional use.

    Crumbled like Bleu Cheese.

Is this a known problem? If so, I missed it.

Ozone? Where was it stored. And did you have it exposed to sunlight or chemicals?

    Nightstand. Like a mushroom.
Gun didn't see much carry or range time. Occasionally cleaning the dust, dry fire, change batteries.

I might have bought it off ebay. Hard to remember that far back. Possibly fake?

    First guess is chemical attack.

Has to be... But, if I'm not using anything unusual for cleaning, and can't recall ever using anything other than a clean cloth to wipe it down, I'd assume that someone else would have seen a similar failure...

When this was my EDC I carried it with the standard mags, so, I can't blame it on toxic sweat.

Ordered a replacement but would like to figure out what not to do to it..

Sunscreen, Deet, and lotion are often overlooked as chemicals that can ravage certain types of plastics.

Yup, like the soft touch and recoil pads Beretta uses on shotguns. Seems kinda silly to make a hunting shotgun that can't handle contact with sunscreen and bug repellent.

Unless I’m mistaken he was talking about an Xgrip magazine adapter for Glocks.

    They’re made out of rubber.

On eBay, there are 3D printed ones.
