@LittleLebowski inspired me after his successful harvest here at Rancho Del Frogo, so after educating myself about hunting, and the Hunters for the Hungry organization, I ventured out to try my hand at it. After about an hour, this guy rolled in pissed off and limping so I bitch-slapped him with a 500 grain .458 SOCOM “Buzzsaw” from Black Buttefly Ammunition.

He took zero steps and was DRT.

Pretty pleased with my first deer ever.

More pleased that people will benefit from him during this holiday season.

You can get much more of what you want with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone.

I shot this squirrel with my Ruger Mark II 22/45 today. The squirrel was on the ground in some brush about a dozen yards away. The bullet clipped the spine just in front of the shoulders and bruised the lungs. Frankly, I was surprised that I hit it and more surprised that the shot was that good. I haven't shot my 22/45 in over a year. This squirrel is the first game animal I've ever killed with a handgun. Both daughters, ages 4 and 7, were with me and seemed to enjoy it, though the four year old left when I started to clean the squirrel.

Second foray into this hunting thing. Seems pretty easy to me. 🤷

This dude also got donated to local food insecure families.

Our bow season opened this weekend. I hunted Saturday AM and saw 4 bucks including a big 10 who busted me when I tried to draw on him at 30 yds. Went back yesterday evening and had this guy at 10yds under my stand before I was even set up. I was still spraying down with cover scent and situating gear when I noticed him. I waited for him to step behind a tree, then quickly ditched the spray bottle into my pack, grabbed the bow, and drew. When he stepped back out at 14yds I let fly. The best part was that my wife and kids were able to join me for the track and recovery process!

    The great N.W.
We are waiting on 🦌 and 🦆 to start here too, not until 10/17. In the meantime I took my 15yo out for a black bear hunt last weekend, beautiful hike up a river. Saw lots of sign and a couple deer but no bears.
