    Springfield TRP 10mm
    40 yds off-hand from a ground blind
    Fiocchi 180 gr JHP (bullet recovered under the skin (that bulge just above the pistol) on the offside.
    (ETA) While I was washing the recovered bullet, the jacket separated from the core.

    Nice buck! How was shot placement on the entrance wound side and how far did the buck travel after hit? Just curious.

    He was slightly uphill and quartering ever so slightly towards me. Impact was a high shoulder shot with the bullet striking the trailing edge of the scapula and nicking the lower spine. He went down like a lightening strike and I was confident the shot was "fatal", but I felt compelled to put a finishing shot (neck/spine) in him shortly thereafter as his demise was taking a little longer than I prefer.
