Thread: Overwatch Sionics Ethos AR

    Overwatch Sionics Ethos AR

A while back, Overwatch brought out a full featured AR, called the Ethos, in collaboration with Sionics. I loved how they spec'd it, as it has almost everything I want and nothing I wouldn't want. It was pretty pricey at about $2,200, and I never got past the looking stage.

Recently, they marked them down to $1,599, and I bought one, getting another ten percent off with a rewards coupon from buying previous Overwatch products. After shooting it, I absolutely love it, enough so I got more.

Man, that sounds like a pretty-close-to-ideal AR, @GJM . I wasn't even aware of it until now.

I don’t have an appropriate scale handy, but it is neither light nor heavy, and my best guess is right at 7 pounds. Between its trigger, Surefire comp and balance, it was extremely easy to shoot fast.

And it looks like Overwatch offers a 15% off veterans discount. The specs on this rifle check all the right boxes. I know Sionics makes good stuff too. If I didn’t own any ARs, this would be a strong contender for a single, general purpose, defensive rifle.

I have a Sionics Patrol Rifle III that appears to have a very similar configuration. 16" Lightweight barrel. It's 8.5 lbs unloaded, including the optic, mount and WML. I'm guessing it's a 6ish pound rifle bare.

I haven't shot it a whole lot, but have been happy.

My main do everything AR for the last 6 years has been a Sonics rifle:

    16" Medium profile barrel
    NP3 BCG
    A5H2 buffer
    G2S trigger

It's been topped with a 2.5-10x32 NXS for the majority of it's life after a brief foray with a 1-4 LPVO.

Never an issue of any kind. I've been competitive in biathlons and DMR matches with it. Great dependable rifle.

Dammit. I certainly don't need another AR, but I do have a bunch of unused optics laying around, and a 15% veteran's discount...mighty tempting.
