Fiber optic front + blacked out rear = not good for me

I had even tried a night sight with the orange outline.... Nothing was helpful.

Damn, that's too bad.

I originally thought I was just hopeless with iron sights. But then I realized I shot my P365XL than my larger guns with FO front sights.

But I agree with @CSW, RDS is the answer.

I'm not against red dots - I shoot them on several of my guns, but I don't want to have to have them on every gun I own. I'd like to at least figure out how to make the most of the iron sights that I do have.

I have been experimenting with yellow FOs, front only, all black rears and I'm finding that it's not over bright like green and doesn't washout like red. I am finding there is 2 yellows, a true yellow is working best and then there is this amber yellow that really has no business trying to be a sight on a firearm. It's all Chinesium from amazon and the descriptions don't help when ordering so it has all been trial and error. Truglio replacement FOs work well if you want to experiment without chasing the rabbit.

That’s how I settled on orange front (tritium or FO) and plain serrated black rear. It’s as good as it gets for me.

An orange/red is the color of the FO that the range officer has.
It was the best FO color I've used.
